FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. – The Converse University lacrosse team fell 15-10 to Emmanuel on Saturday afternoon.
With the loss the Valkyries drop to 3-6 overall on the season and 2-1 in Conference Carolinas action. Converse has now lost three straight matchups dating back to last Saturday. Emmanuel improves to 5-5 overall and 2-1 in Conference Carolinas play this season.
Zoey Jacobs led the Valkyries in scoring with a hat trick, followed by
Hailey Obenchain and
Ally Benken with two goals each.
Brooklyn Walker led the team with a pair of assists on the afternoon and
Abigail Skee had a team high five saves.
Less than two minutes into the contest Emmanuel scored the first two goals of the game against Converse. With 12:19 to go in the first quarter

Ally Benken for the Valkyries first goal of the game. Emmanuel then scored the next four goals to take a 6-1 lead over Converse.
With 6:01 to play in the quarter, Walker found Obenchain for her first goal of the afternoon. Emmanuel scored one more goal before the period was over and took a 7-2 lead into the second quarter.
Megan Holleran and Obenchain scored the first two goals of the second period and the Valkyries were back within striking distance down 7-4. Emmanuel scored the last five goals of the second quarter and went into the halftime break up 12-4.
In the third quarter Emmanuel outscored the Valkyries 2-1 with
Maia Marquez being lone goal scorer for Converse. In the fourth quarter the Valkyries offense came to life as Jacobs recorded a hat trick, as both Bartlett and Benken scored in the period for Converse. The Valkyries outscored Emmanuel 5-1 in the fourth but ran out of time before the comeback could be complete.

The Converse lacrosse team will stay on the road with a trip to Lees-McRae on Wednesday evening.
