Box Score SPARTANBURG, S.C. –  The Converse University women's basketball team found themselves on the wrong end of a big day for the King University Tornado who won 100-49 at the Weisiger Center on Tuesday night.

With the loss, Converse falls to 3-19 overall and 2-12 in Conference Carolinas action. King improves to 10-11 and 7-7 in conference play.

Junior Tatiana Brown and King freshman Samantha Lee both led all players in scoring with 18 points.

How It Happened
The Valkyries and Tornando were fairly even in the first quarter, with Converse holding several leads through the early goings of the game. King surged in the final two minutes of the quarter and led 29-22 heading into the second quarter.

Converse struggled offensively and netted just four points in the second quarter, trailing 51-26 heading into halftime.

The Valkyries fared a bit better in the third quarter, scoring 10 points but gave up 28 points. King led 79-36 heading into the final quarter.

King outpaced Converse 21-13 in the fourth quarter and won 100-49.

• Brown and Lee both led all players in scoring with 18 points.
• Graduate student Janiyah Hagood also scored double-digit points with 10.
• Brown also led Converse in rebounding with seven and recorded the Valkyries only block.
