Annapolis, MD. – The Converse University freshman field hockey athlete
Amparo Figueroa has been named to the Synapse Sports All-Rookie Team for her performance on the field this season.
Figueroa was a South Atlantic Conference First Team selection following a successful freshman campaign. The native of Argentina, played in 17 games and made 15 starts for the purple and gold this season. The freshman tallied 893 minutes of game action, recorded seven goals, four assists, 18 points, 38 total shots, and 24 shots on goal.
Figueroa is the fourth Valkyrie field hockey player to earn the honor and the first since Josephine Jense earned the accolade following the 2022 season. Lotte Kanters and three-time All-American
Catalina Pistaccio are the other two Valkyries to have been named to the publications All-Rookie team.
