Alysha Arroyo (Isabela, Puerto Rico) has been named Specialist of the Week for her efforts on the court last week.
Arroyo helped the Valkyries to a perfect 3-0 week with wins over North Greenville, UNC Pembroke and UVA Wise. The Valkyries clinched the outright Conference Carolinas Northwest Division Championship with a win over North Greenville on Tuesday night. The Valkyries reset the record book with 69 team assists the Trailblazers and Arroyo set the program record with 59 assists in a match.
Following her record breaking performance against North Greenville, the junior posed a 53 assist and 13 dig double-double against UNC Pembroke on Friday night. On Saturday, Arroyo finished with a career high 8 kills and 31 assists against UVA Wise. Last week, Arroyo averaged 11.92 assists per set and 2.25 digs per set for the Valkyries.
Arroyo and the rest of the Converse volleyball team will be back in action tomorrow night at Belmont Abbey.
