Converse University Posts Highest Fall Finish in Learfield Directors’ Cup Standings

CLEVELAND – Earlier this week the Learfield Directors' Cup fall standings for Divisions I, II, III and the NAIA were released, Converse University is currently ranked 71st after the fall standings.
 
This is just the second time in program history that Converse has been listed in the Fall Learfield Cup Standings, the Valkyries were also listed following the 2022 Fall season. The Valkyries 71st place finish is the highest in program history, and is currently the highest in Conference Carolinas. Francis Marion was the only other Conference Carolinas school listed in the rankings this past semester.
 
The men's soccer team made it to the NCAA Tournament for the second time in program history this past fall. The Valkyries were seeded fifth overall in the Super Region II and hosted the second round of the tournament at Weisiger Stadium. For their efforts, the Valkyries finished 17th overall in the tournament and finished with 50 total points.
 
The volleyball team collected the other 25 points for Converse with a 33rd place finish in the NCAA Tournament. The Valkyries volleyball team made the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history following a Conference Carolinas Tournament Championship. Converse traveled to Wingate as the No. 8 seed in the Southeast Region.
 
Midseason standings for the Learfield Cup are unofficial, official standings will be published upon the completion of the spring season. Complete standings and the scoring structure can be found on NACDA's website at directorscup.org.
