BANNER ELK, N.C. – The Converse University men's basketball team lost 107-82 on Tuesday evening to Lees-McRae College in Williams Gymnasium.
With the loss Converse falls to 7-10 overall and 6-5 in Conference Carolinas action. The Valkyries were unable to complete the season sweep with the loss tonight. The Bobcats improve to 7-12 overall and 5-7 in Conference Carolinas play.
Joel Pullen led the team with 16 points,
Jay Mitchell finished second on the team with 15-points,
Isac Ahnstrand contributed 14 points, and
Ben Jones added 11 points.
Edoardo Buffo led the team with five rebounds and four assists on the evening.
Converse was outscored 61-37 in the first half, shooting 39 percent from the field, 43 percent from three-point range, and 66 percent from the free throw line. Meanwhile, Lees-McRae shot 64 percent from the field, 60 percent from three-point range and 50 percent from the free throw line.
In the second half, the Valkyries were outscored 46-45, shooting 48 percent from the field, 46 from three-point range, and 66 percent from the free throw line. The Bobcats shot 80 percent from the field, 83 percent from three-point range and 90 percent from the free throw line.
