Converse Notes:
  • Converse enters the game after a dominant 66-41 victory over No. 12 King in the opening round of the Atlantic Casualty Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Championship.
  • Junior guard Elise Solé Sanchez led Converse in scoring against King with 18 points. Graduate guard Jordan Brown netted the Valkyries 11 points and senior guard Jennifer Damoah scored 10 points, rounding out Converse's double-digit scorers.
  • Brown was the Valkyries top scorer last time out against the Mountain Lions with 13 points. Converse nearly erased a 12-point, fourth-quarter deficit against Young Harris in the teams' previous game. 
  • Including last night's game against King, Converse has won four of their last five games including four in a row. That includes a senior-day victory over top-seeded UNC Pembroke.

  • As the No. 6 seed, Young Harris earned a first round bye and the opportunity to host the first two rounds of the Atlantic Casualty Conference Carolinas Women's Basketball Championship. They last competed on Wednesday, Feb. 28 in a road contest against North Greenville. The Mountain Lions won 70-58.
  • Senior guard Crystal Corley leads the team in scoring with 12.8 points per game. She was also the team's top scorer in their last matchup with Converse. She scored 20 points in that game.
  • Young Harris comes in near the middle-bottom of Conference Carolinas in per-game scoring with 61.4 points per game, good for ninth best in the conference. Defensively, they come in the top half, allowing 61.3 points per game, good for sixth.
  • The Mountain Lions have won eight of their last ten games.
