Women’s Basketball Wraps Up Regular Season in Due West

Converse Notes:
  • Converse enters the game after a thrilling 73-65 double overtime victory over then-top-ranked UNC Pembroke on Saturday. It is the first time the Valkyries have defeated the Braves in program history.
  • The Valkyries have a win over both of the top two teams in the Conference Carolinas KPI rankings: Belmont Abbey and UNC Pembroke.
  • Senior guard Alisa Davenport posted 22 points against the Braves, a career high for the Raleigh native. She sank six three-pointers, the most by a Valkyrie this season.
  • Converse out-rebounded the Braves 38-37 and forced 14 turnovers. The Braves entered the averaging 12.9 turnovers per game and were ranked 12th nationally.

Erskine Notes:
  • Erskine enters the game 4-21 with just a single win against a Conference Carolinas opponent: a 48-46 victory over Lees-McRae on Dec. 7. It is also their only Division II victory of the season.
  • The Flying Fleet currently sit in 13th in the Conference Carolinas KPI rankings, ahead of only Lees-McRae.
  • Senior Anzya Cook leads the team in scoring with 10.0 points per game, the only member of the Fleet averaging double-digit scoring. She has started 24 of the team's 25 games and appeared in all 25.
  • Erskine scores the fewest points per game of any Conference Carolinas team, putting up only 53.0 points per game, 2.4 fewer than the team directly above them in the category, Mount Olive.
