Converse Heads To Volunteer State for Midweek Tilt with King

The Series:
This will be the sixth all-time meeting between Converse and King dating back to the 2021-2022 season. Converse is 4-1 all-time against the Tornado and the Valkyries have won three straight matchups against King. Last time out, the Valkyries defeated King 74-70 back in early December.
 
Converse Notes:
  • Converse is 16-7 overall and 8-5 in Conference Carolinas action. The Valkyries are coming off a 65-61 win over North Greenville on Saturday afternoon.
  • Joel Pullen led the team with 18-points against the Crusaders, CJ Jamison finished second on the team with 13-points and Malcolm Morgan contributed 13-points for Converse.
  • Converse is averaging 79.9 points per game this season, while shooting 47 percent from the field, 37 percent from three-point range and 72 percent from the free throw line.
  • The Valkyries are averaging 34.6 rebounds per game, 16.0 assists per game, 7.7 steals per game and 1.6 blocks per game.
  • Dawkins leads the team with 19.5 points per game, Jamison is second on the team with 15.7 points per game and Burgess III is third on the team with 8.5 points per game.

King Notes:
  • King is 8-14 overall and 4-9 in Conference Carolinas play this season. The Tornado are coming off an 87-86 loss to Chowan on Saturday afternoon.
  • Jordan Akal led the team with 22-points, Mikhail Pocknett finished second on the team with 21-points, Kenny Turner finished third on the team with 13-points and Cam George contributed 11-points off the bench.
  • King is averaging 77.2 points per game this season, shooting 27 percent from the field, 29 percent from three-point range and 63 percent from the free throw line.
  • The Tornado are averaging 39.1 rebounds per game, 11.0 assists per game, 9.8 steals per game and 4.5 blocks per game.
  • Pocknett leads the team with 16.7 points per game this season, Turner is second on the team with 13.8 points per game and Akal is third on the team with 12.7 points per game.
  • Pocknett leads the team with 159 rebounds, 42 steals and 18 blocks on the season. Amarius Beasley leads the team with 41 assists on the year.
