GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Conference Carolinas office announced their monthly freshman of the month awards on Friday, Converse University men's swimmer
Henry Stockton (Colorado Springs, Colo) earned the honor following a successful month in the pool for the Valkyries.
Stockton helped the Valkyries go 2-2 this past month with wins over Berry and Montevallo. At the Emmanuel Fall Invite, the freshman finished second in the 100-yard freestyle (48.37 seconds), 500-yard freestyle (4:54.88) and in the 1,000 yard freestyle event (10:02.08). The Colorado native helped the 200-yard freestyle relay team to an event win with a time of 1:26.47.
At the Lenoir-Rhyne dual meet, Stockton won the 200-yard freestyle in 1:45.65 and finished runner-up in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:56.23. As a member of the 200-freestyle relay, he helped the Valkyries to a second place finish with a time of 3:13.86.
Stockton and the rest of the Valkyries swim team will be back in action this coming Tuesday against Lees-McRae. The meet is set to start at 5:00 p.m. in the Montgomery Student Center.
