In the second set, Lander raced out to a 5-2 advantage over Converse before the Valkyries made a counter attack. By the middle of the set the Valkyries had tied the period at 16. Lander ended the period on a 9-3 run to take the second set 25-19.

Converse opened up the third set on a 7-2 run against the Bearcats. Moments later a 6-0 run by the Lander offense had the Bearcats back on top 10-9 over the Valkyries.
