Most Valuable Professor (MVP) Night is a week night game in which the Converse Athletics department invites all faculty and staff members out to a specific sporting event to be recognized. The volleyball team will also be hosting a raffle for the faculty & staff that come to the game. Faculty and staff members that attend will be recognized between the second and third sets.
Purple Reign night is a game designated by the Converse Athletics department as a "Big Game" and fans are encouraged to come dressed in purple.
The Series:
This will be the 29
th meeting between Converse and Lees-McRae in the NCAA era. The Bobcats are 24-5 against the Valkyries dating back to the 2005 season, but Converse got the better of the Bobcats last time out with a 3-2 win in the opening round of the Conference Carolinas tournament. Last season, the two teams split the regular season series with both teams winning on the road against each other.
Converse Notes:
- Converse is coming off a 2-0 week with wins over Truett-McConnell and Belmont Abbey. The Valkyries are currently second in the Northwest Division behind Lees-McRae.
- Converse is averaging 9.8 kills per set, 8.9 assists per set, 1.1 aces per set, 15.5 digs per set and 1.5 blocks per set this season.
- Evelyn Fitz leads the team with 88 kills this season, Tia Gripado is second on the team with 76 kills and Ariel Bryant is third on the team with 63 kills.
- MacKenzie Schmucker leads the team with 193 assists, while Madison Gregory is second on the team with 95 assists.
- Fitz leads the team with 11 service aces on the year. Mackenzie Day has a team best 148 digs, Jasmine Hamilton is second on the team with 100 digs and Gripado is third on the team with 97 digs.
- Tori Barr and Alayah Robertson are tied for the team lead with 23 blocks each on the season.
Lees-McRae Notes:
- Lees-McRae is currently on a two-game winning streak with wins over Conference division foes King and Belmont Abbey. On Wednesday evening the Bobcats defeated King on the road 3-1 and Saturday, they swept the Crusaders 3-0.
- The Bobcats are averaging 13.4 kills per set, 13.0 assists per set, 1.8 aces per set, 17.9 digs per set and 1.8 blocks per set.
- Sydney Stigler leads the team with 134 kills, Destiny Holley is second on the team with 100 kills and Patrycja Rykala is third on the team with 77 kills.
- Madison Goins leads the team with 375 assists, while Rebecca Ryan has a team high 11 service aces.
- Lauren Xayavong has recorded a team best 187 digs this season and Holley leads the team with 43 total blocks on the year.
