SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Converse women's basketball team dropped a home contest to UNC Pembroke on Saturday afternoon inside the Weisiger Center. The 52-25 loss moves the Valkyries to 4-19 overall and 4-12 in Conference Carolinas play while the Braves improve to 17-7 overall and 14-2 in Conference Carolinas action.
After three quarters, UNC Pembroke had a 44-9 advantage over the Valkyries. Converse kicked it into gear in the final quarter but it was too little too late. 13 of the 16 Converse points scored in the fourth quarter were made by
Sydney Wilson while the other three were put in by
Mary-Grace Durham.
Wilson led the Valkyries with 15 points, seven rebounds and one assist.
Jordan Brown followed with five points, five rebounds, one assist and two steals.
Amaia Parkins led the team in rebounds with nine on the afternoon.

The Valkyries will travel to Lees-McRae on Tuesday evening for a 5:00 p.m. tip-off.
