Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Valkyries Second Half Comeback Runs Out of Time

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA. – With the game tied at 59 with 12 seconds remaining, Emmanuel's Kelvin Jones drove the length of the floor and missed the fade away jumper, but to the shock of Converse fans the final whistle was not blowing for the end of regulation but instead for a shooting foul. The nations leading scorer stepped to the free throw line and sank both free throws to give Emmanuel a 61-59 win over Converse on Tuesday night in the Shaw Athletic Center.

With the loss Converse falls to 14-14 overall and 12-8 in Conference Carolinas play this season. Depending on the outcome of the other league games tomorrow night the Valkyries will either be the five or six seed in the upcoming Conference Carolinas men's basketball tournament. With the gifted win on Tuesday night Emmanuel improves to 21-7 overall and 17-3 in Conference Carolinas action. The Lions will more than likely be the two seed in the upcoming tournament and will not have to play until the semi-final round on Saturday, March 4th.

Bosko Bojovic led the team with 20-points on Tuesday evening, Earl Burgess III finished with 14-points and Jay Mitchell finished with 13-points for Converse.
