Weisiger Center on Tornado Watch As Women’s Basketball Welcomes King to Spartanburg

Converse Notes:

The Valkyries enter Saturday's game after a week off due to exams. They last played on Dec. 2 and fell to Emmanuel 63-48.
Junior guard Elisa Solé Sanchez led the team in scoring last time out with 16 points. She is the first Valkyrie this season to lead the team in scoring while coming off the bench.
Sophomore forward Mackenzi Salas led the team in rebounding last game, her first time doing so this season. She also came off the bench.
Although this is the first time the Tornado and Valkyries are matching up for the first time this season, it is not the first time they have competed in the same arena. King hosted the SAC/Conference Carolinas Crossover to open the season.

King Notes:

King is coming off of a 103-44 loss against North Georgia who is receiving votes in the national poll.
The team's leading scorer is junior guard Ashley Allen who averages 7.9 points per game. She also leads the team in rebounding with 9.0 rebounds per game.
King was selected to finish 10th in the Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll.
The Tornado is coached by head coach Michael Phelps in his third season.
