The Series:
This will be the fifth all-time meeting between Converse and Francis Marion dating back to the 2021-2022 basketball season. The series is tied 2-2 with the Valkyries winning the last two matchups during the 2022-23 season. Last season, the Valkyries eliminated the Patriots in the Second Round of the Conference Carolinas Championships to pick up their first ever postseason win. The Valkyries are 0-1 in their only trip to the Smith University Center.
 
Converse Notes:

• Converse is 8-1 overall and 2-1 in Conference Carolinas action. The Valkyries suffered their first loss of the season on Wednesday evening against Belmont Abbey.
• Uzziah Dawkins led the team with 22-points, CJ Jamison was second on the team with 19-points, Edoardo Buffo contributed 15-points, While Earl Burgess III and Jay Mitchell each added 10-points in the loss.
• The Valkyries are #4 in the latest D2 CSC Region Poll and is receiving a first place vote.
• Burgess III was named Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Week. The junior forward recorded a double-double with a 17-point, 12-rebound performance against King.     
• Converse is averaging 87.2 points per game, shooting 52 percent from the field, 40 percent from beyond the arch and 73 percent from the free throw line.
• The Valkyries are averaging 38.6 rebounds per game, 19.0 assists per game, 6.8 steals per game and 1.7 blocks per game.
• Dawkins leads the team with 19.4 points per game, Jamison is second on the team with 15.2 points per game and Buffo is third on the team with 14.2 points per game.
• Jamison leads the team with 53 rebounds and 15 steals on the season, while Buffo leads the team with 39 assists.

Francis Marion Notes:

• Francis Marion is 3-7 overall and 1-1 in Conference Carolinas play this season. Monday night will be their home opener.
• The Patriots are coming off a 99-66 loss to #20 USC Aiken on Saturday afternoon. Willie Patterson III led the team with 13-points against the Pacers, Bryce Beamer was second on the team with 12-points and Jacques Horaces Jr is third on the team with 11-points.
• Francis Marion is averaging 89.8 points per game this season, shooting 45 percent from the field, 27 percent from three-point range and 69 percent from the free throw line.
• The Patriots are averaging 38.3 rebounds per game, 15.3 assists per game, 11.0 steals per game and 2.6 blocks per game.
