Women’s Basketball Heads to Belmont for First Conference Road Test of the Season

The Valkyries enter Wednesday's game after a 74-59 victory over King, their first Conference Carolinas victory of the season.
Junior guard Elisa Solé Sanchez posted nine points and six steals in Saturday's victory. She was named the Conference Carolinas Defensive Player of the Week.
Redshirt senior guard Sydney Wilson posted 19 points in the victory, her season-high against NCAA opponents. She also posted eight rebounds and averages 7.8 rebounds per game, the third-highest mark in the conference.
In Saturday's victory, four of Converse's five starters scored in double-digits.

Belmont Abbey Notes:

The Crusaders are coming off of a 71-63 road defeat at the hands of the Anderson Trojans. Before that they picked up a 33-point, 83-50 victory over Barton in their first conference game of the season.
Junior forward Abigail Crain leads the team in scoring with 18.2 points per game. She has started all nine games and has the third-highest per-game scoring mark in Conference Carolinas.
Belmont Abbey was selected to finish second in the Conference Carolinas Preseason Poll. They received four first-place votes.
Despite two fewer wins and two more losses than conference-leaders North Greenville, Belmont Abbey scores the second-most points per game with 66.6, just 0.3 behind NGU.
