Women’s Basketball Gears Up For 2023 Conference Crossover

Converse Notes:
  • The Valkyries are led by head coach Samantha Davidson in her third season at the helm of the Converse program.
  • Converse returns their leading scoring from the 2022-23 season, redshirt senior center Sydney Wilson. She logged 382 points in 28 games played last season.
  • Wilson was tabbed as a Conference Carolinas Player to Watch prior to the 2023-24 season. She was joined on the list by graduate guard Jordan Brown and junior guard Zariyah Washington.
  • The Valkyries were tabbed 12th in the Conference Carolinas preseason poll.

Lincoln Memorial Notes:
  • The Railsplitters are led by head coach Devan Carter in his fourth season at the helm.
  • The team returns their leading scoring from last season, sophomore guard Alexa Smiddy. In 28 games played, Smiddy logged 473 points.
  • Lincoln Memorial was picked to finish sixth in the South Atlantic Conference's preseason coaches' poll. They were the only team outside of Catawba and Carson-Newman, the league's top-two ranked teams, to receive a first-place vote.
  • The Railsplitters had two preseason all-conference selections. Along with Smiddy who was named to the second team, graduate guard Lauren Flowers was named third team preseason all-conference. She netted 261 points during the 2022-23 campaign, the third-highest total on the team.
Limestone Notes:
  • The Saints are led by head coach Corey Fox in his 19th season with the program. He has led the Saints to a237-62 overall record and a 168-31 conference mark over the last 10 seasons.
  • Limestone was selected to finish seventh in the South Atlantic Conference's preseason coaches' poll.
  • The team's leading returning scorer is junior forward Kalisha Hill. She netted 349 points last season. Hill was also named to the third team preseason all-conference.
  • The Saints are coming off of their lowest win total since the 2018-19 season. This excludes the COVID-19 shortened 2020-21 season. Last season the Saints posted a 14-15 record.
