The Series
This will be the eighth time that the Valkyries and the Hawks will battle on the basketball court. Chowan currently holds a 6-1 series lead over Converse who has not defeated the Hawks since the 2007-08 season.
 
Converse Notes:

• Converse is 1-12 overall and 1-6 in Conference Carolinas action after dropping a road contest to UNC Pembroke on Wednesday evening.
• In the 73-44 loss, Zahra Cross, Sydney Wilson and Colbie Perry each scored nine points while Jordan Brown and Anna Cary both recorded five rebounds.
• Converse is averaging 48.1 points per game while shooting .314 from the field, .228 from three-point range and .578 from the line.
• The Valkyries are racking up 38.1 rebounds per game, 9.9 assists per game, 7.2 steals per game and 2.8 blocks per game.
• Wilson leads the team overall with an average of 13.0 points per game, 72 rebounds, 14 assists, seven steals and two blocks on the season. Cross follows with an average of 10.2 points per game with a total of 37 rebounds, 19 assists, 11 steals and three blocks on the year.
• Brown leads Converse with 86 rebounds, 33 assists and 23 steals while Amaia Parkins leads with 14 blocks.

Chowan Notes:

• Chowan is 8-4 overall and 4-2 in Conference Carolinas play after picking up an 87-75 win over Bowie State on New Year's Eve.
• In the win, Aniah Patterson led the Hawks with 26 points, two rebounds and one assist. Destiny Robinson followed with 19 points, 13 rebounds, four assists and four blocks.
• As a team, Chowan is averaging 66.1 points per game with a .400 field goal percentage, a .294 three-point percentage and a .696 free throw percentage.
• The Hawks are averaging 46.1 rebounds per game, 12.5 assists per game, 22.6 turnovers per game, 10.5 steals per game and 4.8 blocks per game.
• Robinson leads the team overall this season, averaging 12.3 points per game with a total of 117 rebounds, 17 assists, 19 steals and 34 blocks. Patterson follows with an average of 10.1 points per game, 51 rebounds, 17 assists, 21 steals and one block on the year.
• Tyaysia Sharpe leads the Hawks in assists with 31.
