Women’s Basketball Set to Host Coker in Mid-Season Non-Conference Matchup

The Series
This will be the 10th time that Converse and Coker have met on the basketball court. The Cobras hold a 6-3 series lead over the Valkyries who beat Coker 58-53 last season.
 
Converse Notes:
  • Converse is 2-13 overall and 2-7 in Conference Carolinas action after picking up a league win over Lees-McRae on Tuesday evening.
  • In the 60-48 win, Colbie Perry led the team with 15 points, four rebounds, one assist and one steal. Sydney Wilson followed closely behind with 14 points, eight rebounds, one assist and one steal. Zahra Cross led the Valkyries in assists (5) and steals (3).
  • Converse is averaging 48.4 points per game while shooting .319 from the field, .229 from beyond the arch and .595 from the line.
  • The team is averaging 38.2 rebounds per game, 10.3 assists per game, 7.5 steals per game and 2.8 blocks per game.
  • Wilson leads the team overall, averaging 13.1 points per game with a total of 90 rebounds, 18 assists, nine steals and five blocks on the year. Cross follows with an average of 10.1 points per game and a total of 42 rebounds, 28 assists, 16 steals and three blocks on the season.
  • Jordan Brown leads Converse in rebounds (94), assists (38), and steals (26) and Amaia Parkins leads in blocks with 15.
Coker Notes:
  • Coker is 4-10 overall and 0-7 in South Atlantic Conference play after dropping a contest to Lenoir-Rhyne on Wednesday evening.
  • In the 58-43 loss, Hope Richardson led the Cobras with 16 points, nine rebounds, one steal and one block.
  • Coker is averaging 58.4 points per game with a .369 field goal percentage, a .275 three-point percentage and a .690 free throw percentage.
  • The team is averaging 39.9 rebounds per game, 9.7 assists per game, 20.6 turnovers per game, 7.8 steals per game and 4.1 blocks per game.
  • Richardson leads the Cobras, averaging 9.5 points per game and 6.0 rebounds per game. Abigail Keesling follows, averaging 9.2 points per game and 1.5 rebounds per game.
  • Valicia Demeritte leads Coker in rebounds per game (6.1) and blocks per game (1.2) while Dasia Lambert leads in steals per game (1.4).
