The Series:
This will be the 26th meeting between Converse and Barton. The Bulldogs hold a 24-1 record against the Valkyries. The last victory for Converse over Barton was back in the 2015-16 season when they defeated the Bulldogs 66-61. Barton defeated Converse earlier this season on January 8 by a score of 60-47.
This will be just the fifth meeting between Converse and Francis Marion. The Patriots hold a 4-0 record over the Valkyries. Earlier this season, Francis Marion won 86-64 against Converse.

  • The Valkyries are 3-17 this season and 2-15 in Conference Carolinas play.
  • Converse is coming into these games after a home loss to Belmont Abbey on Tuesday evening by a score of 43-41.

  • Barton is going into the game with a win after defeating Mount Olive 70-49 on Tuesday evening.
  • In the win, Jami Tham recorded 21 points, 16 rebounds and 2 steals for the Bulldogs. Shanika Peterkin followed Tham with 20 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 blocks during the win.
  • The Bulldogs are averaging 74.6 points per game and shooting .425 from the field. They are .324 from three-point range and 72 percent at the charity stripe.
  • Barton is averaging 42 rebounds per game, 17.2 assists per game, 10.4 steals per game and 5 blocks per game.
  • Peterkin leads the team in points and blocks with 343 points on the year, averaging 16.3 points per game and tallying 58 blocks thus far. She is followed by Tham who has 277 points on the season, averaging 14.6 points per contest. Tham also leads the team in steals with 37 so far.

  • Francis Marion is going into this weekend after losing to Chowan 75-73 at home on Tuesday evening.
  • In the home loss, Destiny Robinson led the Patriots in points (15), rebounds (18), steals (4) and blocks (3). Monique Jones followed her with 13 points and 7 rebounds.
  • The Patriots are averaging 71.8 points per contest and shooting .425 from the field. Beyond the arch, Francis Marion is shooting .283 and almost 69 percent from the free throw line.
  • Francis Marion is averaging 40.7 rebounds per game, 17.3 assists per game, 6.8 steals per game and 2.2 blocks per game.
  • Lauryn Taylor leads the team in points with 323 on the season, averaging 16.2 points per contest. She is followed by Zaria Woods who has 222 points thus far and is averaging 12.3 points each game. Woods leads the team in blocks (21), followed by Taylor and Jada Richards who each have 7.
  • Aniyah Oliver has 105 assists and 25 steals on the year, and team high in both categories.
