Valkyries End the Calendar Year with a Trip to Limestone

The Series:
This will be the second meeting between Converse and Limestone, the Saints won the first meeting last season 73-64 in Gaffney, S.C. Three different Valkyries scored in double-figures last season, Sigurd Lorange led Converse with 14-points, while Jimmie Sanders III and Wes Morgan both contributed 10-points.   
 
Converse Notes:
  • Converse is 6-7 overall and 4-2 in Conference Carolinas action this season. The Valkyries are coming off an 80-70 loss to Coker on December 19th.
  • Uzziah Dawkins led the Valkyries with 16-points and 6-assists in the loss, Trey Smith added 14-points off the bench and Bosko Bojovic contributed 11-points.
  • Converse is averaging 73.1 points per game this season and they are shooting .480 from the field. The Valkyries are also shooting .379 from beyond the arch and .681 from the free throw line.
  • The Valkyries are averaging 33.1 rebounds per game, 14.5 assists per game, 4.9 steals per game and 1.9 blocks per game.
  • Uzziah Dawkins leads the team with 13.7 points per game, while Bojovic is second on the team with 11.3 points per game. Sigurd Lorange is third on the team 10.9 points per game this season. 
  • Bojovic leads the team in offensive rebounds (28), defensive rebounds (51), total rebounds (79) and rebounds per game (7.2). Dawkins leads the team with 50 assists and 8 blocks.  
 
Limestone Notes:
  • Limestone is 3-7 overall and 1-3 in South Atlantic Conference action this season. The Saints have lost three straight games and most recently came up short against No. 7 Lincoln Memorial 88-79 on December 17th.
  • Ben Gahlert led the Saints with 20-points, Isayah Owens finished second on the team with 17-points and Richard Nunez contributed 13-points in the road loss.
  • Limestone is averaging 73.0 points per game and they are shooting .417 from the field this season. The Saints are also shooting .331 from three-point range and .709 from the free throw line.
  • Limestone is averaging 30.2 rebounds per game, 13.5 assists per game, 7.6 steals per game and 2.6 blocks per game.
  • Four different Saints are averaging double-figures in the scoring column this season. Nunez leads the team with 13.4 points per game, Gahlert is second on the team with 12.0 points per game, Zeb Graham is third with 11.8 points per game and Owens is contributing an even 10.0 points per game.
  • Nunez leads the team in offensive rebounds (25), total rebounds (54), rebounds per game (5.4), steals (17) and blocked shots (17).
  • Owens leads the team with 33 assists on the season, while Graham is three assists behind with 30 on the season.
