The Series
This will be the third all-time meeting between Converse and Lenoir-Rhyne, with the Bears holding a 2-0 edge. The two teams have not met since the 2015-16 season, when Lenoir-Rhyne walked away with a 63-57 win inside the Weisiger Center. This will be the Valkyries first ever trip to Shuford Arena on Saturday afternoon.
 
Converse Notes:
  • Converse is 0-5 overall on the season and 0-1 in Conference Carolinas action after losing to Belmont Abbey on Tuesday night.
  • In the Valkyries loss, Zahara Cross led the team with 9-points, while Alisa Davenport finished second on the team with 7-points. Sydney Wilson led the team with 6-rebounds, while Amaia Parkins led the team with a pair of blocks.
  • The Valkyries are off to their worst start since the 2013-14 season when they lost 17 straight to open up the year.
  • The Valkyries are averaging 50.0 points per game with a .296 field goal percentage, a .270 three-point percentage and a .643 free throw percentage.
  • The team is averaging 36 rebounds per game, 10.0 assists per game, 8.2 steals per game and 2.4 blocks per game.
  • Overall, Cross leads Converse with 63 points, averaging 12.6 points per game, 17 rebounds, nine assists, five steals and one block. Wilson follows with 51 points, averaging 10.2 points per game, 29 rebounds, three assists and four steals.
  • Brown leads the team in assists (11) and steals (10) and Parkins leads in blocks with seven.
Lenoir-Rhyne Notes:
  • Lenoir-Rhyne is 5-0 this season and is currently receiving votes in the latest coach's poll. The Bears are coming off an 85-81 overtime win over #21 Wingate on Tuesday evening.
  • Brandi Hudson led the Bears with 23-points off the bench in the win and Emily Harman finished second on the team with 21-points.
  • Lenoir-Rhyne is 2-0 against Conference Carolinas school's this season with wins over King and Lees-McRae earlier in the season.
  • The Bears are averaging 79.0 points per game, shooting .467 percent from the field, .284 percent from three-point range and .776 percent from the free throw line.
  • Lenoir-Rhyne is averaging 31.8 rebounds per game, 14.6 assists per game, 13.6 steals per game and 3.6 blocks per game.
  • The Bears have four players averaging double-figures in the scoring column this season. Brandi Hudson (18.3 ppg), Emily Harman (15.4 ppg), Blaikley Crooks (13.8 ppg) and Azariah Fields (12.8 ppg).
  • Fields leads the team in rebounds (20) and assists (19), while Megan Landsiedel leads the team with 14 steals on the season.
