Valkyries Set to Battle No. 10 Limestone

The Matchup
Converse (2-4, 2-2 SAC/CC) at #10 Limestone (5-2, 4-0 SAC/CC)
Location: Saints Field, GAFFNEY, S.C.
Time: 7:00 p.m.
 
The Series
This is will be the eighth time in program history that Converse and Limestone have met on the field. The Saints hold a 7-0 advantage in the series as the Valkyries look to be upset minded headed into tomorrow night's game. The Valkyries are 1-0 on Saints Field this season, having defeated Mount Olive earlier in the season. Last time the Valkyries traveled to Gaffney to play Limestone, the Valkyries kept the match close and fell 2-0 to the Saints. Converse will look to avoid their fifth straight shutout to Limestone on Wednesday night.    
 
Converse Notes:
  • The Valkyries are 2-4 overall this season and 2-2 in South Atlantic/Conference Carolinas play.
  • Converse will look to bounce back following an overtime loss to Coker on Sunday afternoon.
  • The Valkyries are averaging 1.33 goals per game and average just over 12 shots per contest.
  • Converse has attempted 37 corners this season and the Valkyrie goalkeepers have combined for 15 saves on the season.
  • Mira Polzer leads the team this season in assists (3), points (5) and shots on goal (7).
  • Lotte Kanters leads the team in goals scored (2) and total shots (14). Kanters is second on the team in points (4).
  • The Valkyries have had seven different goal scorers this season and five different players have attributed assists.
  • Two-time player of the week Ciriaca Petitto has made a trio of starts in goal this season for the Valkyries. Petitto has made nine saves and has posted a .750 save percentage.  
 
Limestone Notes:
  • Limestone is 5-2 overall and 4-0 in South Atlantic Conference/Conference Carolinas action.
  • The Saints only losses of the season came against Shippensburg the No. 1 team in the nation and Millersville the No. 4 team in the nation.
  • Since losing to the top team in the land, Limestone has won two straight against Frostburg State and Belmont Abbey.
  • Despite trailing 1-0 going into the halftime break, the Saints scored in both the third and fourth quarters to remain undefeated and atop the conference standings.
  • The Saints are averaging 3.67 goals per game and they are taking just under 10 shots per contest.
  • Kelly Diplock currently leads the Saints offense with a trio of goals, Diplock also leads with seven points, 9 total shots and 8 shots on goal.
  • Tereza Koprivova has played the most minutes in goal this season and has made 14 saves, while posting a .875 save percentage.
