Box Score Franklin Springs, GA – It had been 463 days since the Converse College Women's Volleyball team had taken the court. However, that did not prevent the Valkyries from continuing to prepare for the season they had hoped for. The time had finally come for them to face competition other than themselves and they would start the season off against one of the top teams in Conference Carolinas, Emmanuel College.
Unfortunately, the match did not go the way Converse was hoping for, as they fell to Emmanuel College 3-0 (25-11, 25-18, 25-20). Even in the loss, the Valkyries saw some bright spots they can use to gain momentum in upcoming games.
Brittany Tepedino finished the match with 6 kills and 9 digs, while
Kiara Cannon chipped in with 7 kills.
Elizabeth Yohe also had a productive night for Converse, recording 11 digs on the night.
The Valkyries will have 10 days off until they travel to Belmont, NC to take on Belmont Abbey College. It will be another tough test for Converse, but Coach
Amy Bomar knows her team will be ready. Even though tonight's match resulted in a loss, the Valkyries gained valuable experience are looking forward to their next challenge to prove that they are a team who can compete with any one in Conference Carolinas.
