Valkyries Looking for Season Sweep against Limestone

The Series
This is will be the ninth time in program history that Converse and Limestone have met on the field. This will be the second time the two programs have met over the past week. Converse took a short road trip up to Gaffney, S.C. last week and knocked off the #10 team in the country on their home turf. The win was also the Valkyries first ever win against the Saints. Lotte Kanters led the Valkyries offense with a pair of goals in the upset victory over the Saints.
 
Converse Notes:
  • The Valkyries are 4-5 overall this season and 4-3 in South Atlantic/Conference Carolinas play.
  • Converse is coming off a 3-0 win over Coker University on Sunday afternoon. For the Valkyries it was their first ever win over the Cobras and it was their second shutout of the season.
  • Mira Polzer assisted on two of the three goals for the Valkyries, while Lotte Kanters, Bella Pistilli and Catalina Pistaccio each scored a goal in the victory.
  • Caroline Bailey and Ciriaca Petitto each spent a half in the goal and helped preserve the Valkyries shutout over the Cobras
  • The Valkyries are averaging 1.56 goals per game and average just over 13 shots per contest.
  • Converse has attempted 58 corners this season and the Valkyrie goalkeepers have combined for 27 saves on the season.
  • Mira Polzer leads the conference and the team in assists with seven on the season. The German native currently ranks third nationally in assists per game (0.78). Polzer is second on the team in points (9) and total shots (19).  
  • Lotte Kanters leads the team in goals scored (5), points (11), total shots (24) and game-winning goals (2).
  • The Valkyries have had nine different goal scorers this season and six different players have attributed assists.
  • Two-time player of the week Ciriaca Petitto has made a trio of starts in goal this season for the Valkyries. Petitto has made 14 saves and has posted an .824 save percentage.  
Limestone Notes:
  • Limestone is 6-3 overall and 5-1 in South Atlantic Conference/Conference Carolinas action.
  • After falling to Converse last week, the Saints rebounded with a double-overtime win against Belmont Abbey this weekend.
  • Kelly Diplock recorded a hat trick and now leads the conference with nine goals on the season. Diplock also leads the team in points (21), total shots (29), shots on goal (21) and game-winning goals (3).
  • Lewis Gwendolyn leads the team in assists (4) and is second on the team in points (10), total shots (14), shots on goal (14) and game-winning goals (1).
  • Tereza Koprivova has started eight games in goal for the Saints this season and has made 39 saves on the year. Koprivova has recorded a pair of shutouts and has a team best .722 save percentage.
