The Series
This is will be the fifth meeting between Converse University and Mount Olive dating back to the 2019 season. The Valkyries hold a 3-1 lead in the overall series and have won the last three matchups against the Trojans. Earlier this season, sophomore Eryn Follett scored the games only goal and helped the Valkyries to a 1-0 win over the Trojans.
 
Converse Notes:
  • The Valkyries are 10-5 overall this season and 8-3 in South Atlantic/Conference Carolinas play.
  • Converse is coming off a 3-1 win over Belmont Abbey on Tuesday evening. The win clinched the No.1 seed in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament and gave the Valkyries their first ever regular season championship.
  • Lotte Kanters scored the first goal of the game just four minutes in, Luisa Fasold followed with a goal of her own in the 12th minute of the contest. Mira Polzer scored the final goal of the game off a penalty stroke.
  • The Valkyries are averaging 2.40 goals per game and average just over 15 shots per contest.
  • Converse has attempted 104 corners this season and the Valkyrie goalkeepers have combined for 38 saves on the season.
  • Mira Polzer leads the nation in assists per game (1.07) and leads the South Atlantic Conference in total assists (17). Polzer is tied for second in the conference in points (29) and total shots (50). The Germany native is second on the team in goals scored with six on the season.     
  • Former South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week Lotte Kanters leads the team in goals scored (8) and game-winning goals (4). Kanters is second on the team with 19 points this season.
  • The Valkyries have had 12 different goal scorers this season and eight different players have contributed assists.
  • Three-time player of the week Ciriaca Petitto has made six starts in goal this season for the Valkyries. Petitto has made 19 saves and has posted a .792 save percentage. 
 
Mount Olive Notes:
  • Mount Olive is 5-8 overall and 5-6 in South Atlantic Conference/Conference Carolinas action.
  • The Trojans have lost three straight games but hold a 4-1 record at home this season.
  • Mount Olive is coming off a 1-0 loss to Newberry on Wednesday afternoon. The Trojans have been outscored 6-0 over the last three matches.
  • Mount Olive is averaging a goal a game this season and just under nine shots per contest. The Trojans have attempted 86 penalty corners this season and they have made 92 saves on the year.
  • Annefleur Moerkerken leads the team with 3 goals, 4 assists, 10 points, 24 total shots, 11 shots on goal and a pair of game-winning goals.
  • Victoria Lane has been the starting goalie for the Trojans all season. Lane has made 85 saves on 142 shots faced.
