The Series
This is will be the tenth all-time meeting between Converse and Newberry College. The Wolves hold an 8-1 advantage in the series and have won the past seven games dating back to the 2017 season. The last two matches in the series have been the closest between the two squads. Earlier this season, the Wolves edged out the Valkyries in a 1-0 overtime win and last season the Wolves ended the Valkyries season with a 2-1 double-overtime victory in the playoffs.
 
This will be the ninth all-time meeting between Converse and Queens University (N.C.) on Sunday afternoon. The Valkyries snapped a five-game losing skid to the Royals earlier this season with a 3-1 road victory over Queens. A win on Sunday would give the Valkyries their first home win over the Royals since the 2017 season.   
 
Converse Notes:

• The Valkyries are 6-5 overall this season and 5-3 in South Atlantic/Conference Carolinas play.
• Converse is coming off a 3-1 win over Frostburg State last Saturday afternoon. The win marked the Valkyries first win over the Bobcats in program history.  
• Mira Polzer scored the opening goal of the day on a pass from Luisa Fasold. Polzer then assisted on the next two goals by Lotte Kanters and Elizabeth Wypych. 
• The Valkyries were able to play all four goalies and all 26 field players in the match against Frostburg State.
• The Valkyries are averaging 1.73 goals per game and average just over 14 shots per contest.
• Converse has attempted 67 corners this season and the Valkyrie goalkeepers have combined for 29 saves on the season.
• Mira Polzer leads the conference and the team in assists with eight on the season. The German native currently ranks second nationally in assists per game (0.73). Polzer leads the team in total shots (35) and shots on goal (21). Polzer is tied for the team lead in Points with 14 on the season.    
• Former South Atlantic Conference Player of the Week Lotte Kanters leads the team in goals scored (6) and game-winning goals (3). Kanters is tied for the team lead with 14 points on the season.
• The Valkyries have had 10 different goal scorers this season and six different players have attributed assists.
• Two-time player of the week Ciriaca Petitto has made a trio of starts in goal this season for the Valkyries. Petitto has made 14 saves and has posted an .824 save percentage. 

 
Newberry Notes:

• Newberry is 7-4 overall and 4-3 in conference action this season.
• The Wolves have won four straight games dating back to a September 29^th win over Queens.
• Saturday's game against Converse will mark the Wolves second straight road contest. Last weekend the Wolves defeated Coker 5-3.
• Newberry is averaging 2.55 goals per game and 19.5 shots per contest. The Wolves have attempted 92 corners and have made 78 saves this season.
• Yasmin De Meyer leads the team in assists (5), points (15) and is tied for the team lead in goals scored (5). Lily Drury is second on the team in goals scored (4) and points (11). Drury leads the team in total shots (39), shots on goal (27) and game-winning goals (2).
• Grace Lee has started every game in goal for the Wolves this season and has made 71 saves on 123 shots faced. Lee has also produced four shutouts on the season for the Wolves.

 
Queens Notes:

• The Royals are 5-8 overall and 4-6 in conference play this season.
• Queens is coming off back-to-back wins over Belmont Abbey and Mount Olive last week. The Royals defeated the Crusaders 6-1 and the Trojans 4-0.
• Queens is averaging 2.23 goals per game this season and 12.8 shots per contest.
• The Royals attempted 107 penalty corners and have made 65 saves this season.
• Gabe Lechner leads the team in goals scored (10), points (22), total shots (31), shots on goal (19) and game-winning goals (3).
• Marlee Geppert has made all 13 starts in goal for the Royals this season. Geppert has made 37 saves on 80 shots faced.
