The Series:
This will be the seventh meeting between Converse University and UNC Pembroke dating back to the 2013 season. UNC Pembroke holds a 5-1 advantage in the All-Time series lead but Converse won the most recent matchup 3-2 at a neutral site location in Aiken, S.C. The Valkyries have only made the trek to Pembroke, N.C., twice and in both instances the Valkyries walked away empty handed.  
 
Since the start of the 2010 season, Converse University and Belmont Abbey have battled 15-times. Belmont Abbey holds a perfect 15-0 record over the Valkyries in that time span and they are 9-0 against the Valkyries when playing at home. If Converse wins on Saturday afternoon it will be their first win over Belmont Abbey since October 28, 2006. During the 2006 campaign the Valkyries swept Belmont Abbey in both matches.
 
Converse Notes:

• Converse is looking to end a three-match losing streak in Conference Carolinas play.
• Converse is coming off a heartbreaking 3-2 loss to King on Tuesday evening. It was the Valkyries first loss at home during the 2021 campaign.   
• The Valkyries went 0-2 last weekend with losses to Francis Marion and Erskine.
• As a team the Valkyries are averaging 9.9 kills per set and 9.1 assists per set. Converse is also averaging 16.3 digs and 1.6 blocks per set this season.
• Anna Rabon leads the team with 141 kills, Kiara Cannon is second on the team with 140 kills and Jasmine Finkley has produced 116 kills. Rabon is second on the team in service aces (21) and digs (158).
• Madison Gregory leads the team with 247 assists and Savannah Ducote is second on the team with 235 assists. Elizabeth Yohe leads the team with 23 service aces and 327 digs.
• Jasmine Finkley leads the team with 45 total blocks and Kiara Cannon is second on the team with 40 total blocks.  

 
 
UNC Pembroke Notes:

• The Braves are 16-8 overall and 8-2 in Conference Carolinas action.
• UNC Pembroke is currently on a two-game losing streak with losses to Francis Marion and Flagler.
• Prior to the losing skid, the Braves had won four straight with wins over Erskine, Coker, Belmont Abbey and Southern Wesleyan.
• The Braves are averaging 12.3 kills per set, 11.3 assists per set, 15.8 digs per set and 1.9 blocks per set.
• Shannon Skryd leads the team with 234 kills and 277 digs this season. Skyrd is also fourth on the team in assists (19) and second on the team in service aces (28).
• Brianna Warren is second on the team with 208 kills and leads the team in total blocks with 99.0. Katie Pressley leads the team with 635 assists this season and Elise Martin has recorded 40 service aces.

 
Belmont Abbey Notes:

• Belmont Abbey is 4-16 overall and 4-6 in Conference Carolinas play.
• The Crusaders are coming off a straight set sweep over Lees-McRae on Wednesday night.
• The win ended a two-game losing streak, which included wins over UNC Pembroke and Francis Marion.
• The Crusaders are averaging 10.3 kills per set, 9.5 assists per set, 15.5 digs per set and 1.1 blocks per set.
• Cameron Young leads the team with 150 kills, Lauren Hamilton is second on the team with 132 and Caitlyn Faber is third on the team with 109 kills.
• Paige Rawlins leads the team with 468 assists and she is tied with Faber for the most service aces this season with 18. Hailey Ryan leads the team with 299 digs and Bailey Rose leads the team with 33.0 blocks this season.
