Box Score GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Converse Basketball team fought against Limestone but was unable to keep the pace as the Valkyries dropped a Conference Carolinas contest on the road, 95-64.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Erin Horne led the Valkyries with 10 points. Paige Johnson and Brianna James chipped in with nine points each.
Keocia Walker led the team with nine rebounds including four offensive boards. Kassidy Moorhouse hauled in five boards and five points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
1st Quarter
Paige Johnson and Erin Horne connected on shots from distance to keep the game close to start off the contest. Limestone's Davis scored the Saints' first eight points.
Hannah Anderson knocked down two from the stripe to knot things at 8-all. On the next possession, Keocia Walker hit a three from the top of the arc to give the Valkyries an 11-10 lead.
The Saints went on a 6-0 run to regain the lead midway through the quarter. Hannah Anderson ended the run with two more from the stripe. Paige Johnson cut the deficit to one, 16-15 with a layup with 2:28 remaining in the quarter.
Kassidy Moorhouse and Erin Horne connected on baskets as the Valkyries trailed 22-19 after the first 10 minutes of action.
2nd Quarter
The Saints opened the quarter on a 7-2 run to lead 29-21. Paige Johnson hit the lone jumper. Hannah Anderson ended the run with a jumper at the 6:39 mark of the quarter.
Limestone continued to build on their lead as the Saints held the Valkyries to nine points in the quarter. Abigail Lewis contributed four points in the quarter.
Converse went into the locker room trailing Limestone 38-28.
3rd Quarter
After a 7-0 Saints run to open the second half action, Paige Johnson hit a jumper from the elbow. Brianna James chipped in with two freebies before the Saints sparked a 14-0 run to push the Converse deficit to 57-34 midway through the quarter.
Out of the timeout, Tatum Boggs knocked down a three. Erin Horne traded threes with the Saints to keep the contest close.
Brianna James knocked down a three to end the scoring for the Valkyries heading to the last stanza trailing 64-46.
4th Quarter
Brianna James and Erin Horne would cut into the deficit to open the quarter but a 12-0 run pushed the Saints lead to 79-50. Kassidy Moorhouse ended the run with a trey from the wing. Tatum Boggs hit her second three of the game midway through the quarter.
Converse was unable to gain any momentum as Limestone shot 57.9% in the quarter to seal the 95-64 victory.
