FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA. - The Converse Basketball team dropped a 70-50 Conference Carolinas contest to Emmanuel on Thursday evening. With 7:37 remaining in the contest, senior Erin Horne recorded career steal 137, tying the all-time career steals mark held by former Valkyrie Brandy Williams ('11).

Keocia Walker netted a team-high 14 points for the Valkyries with eight of those points coming in the fourth quarter.  Brianna James and Hannah Anderson chipped in with eight points each.  Anderson led the team with eight boards, while James had six.

HOW IT HAPPENED

1st Quarter

Converse started off the contest with a three pointer from Keocia Walker off the dish from Brianna James.

Hannah Anderson made back-to-back baskets to cut the deficit to four, 14-10 with 3:21 remaining in the quarter before Emmanuel used a 10-0 run to widen their lead to 21-10 to end the quarter.

2nd Quarter

Both teams traded baskets in the quarter scoring 18 points each.  Paige Johnson started the scoring for the Valkyries with a jumper.

Emmanuel's 6-0 run pushed their lead to 15, 27-12, before Kassidy Moorhouse ended the run with a triple. 

Converse was unable to cut into the deficit as both teams traded baskets throughout the quarter.  Tatum Boggs cut it the deficit to single digits with a three with under two minutes to go in the half.

Brianna James made a jumper to close out the half as the Valkyries went into the locker room trailing 39-28.

3rd Quarter

The Valkyries connected on three field goals in the quarter as Emmanuel widen the gap to 56-37 heading into the final 10 minutes of play.

Brianna James hit two of the three field goals and two free throws while Keocia Walker hit from distance.

4th Quarter

At the 7:37 mark of the quarter, Erin Horne recorded the steal for her 137th of her career.

The Valkyries would attempt to cut into the deficit trailing 66-42 with a mini-run sparked by Abigail Lewis on a layup and Keocia Walker producing a three-point play.
