Box Score SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Converse Basketball team was unable to regain traction after a tough 10 minutes of action as the Barton Bulldogs defeated the Valkyries 88-58 in Conference Carolinas action on Monday evening.
Three Valkyries produced double-figures in the loss. Keocia Walker led the charge with 11 points while Tatum Boggs and Erin Horne chipped in with 10 points apiece. Abigail Lewis pitched in with nine points.

HOW IT HAPPENED
1st Quarter
Converse struggled to find their stroke in the early going trailing Barton 10-2 forcing a timeout. Abigail Lewis scored the lone basket.
After the timeout, Keocia Walker knocked down a jumper. Barton went on an 8-3 to push their lead out to 18-7. Tatum Boggs knocked down a three for the Valkyries.
Another Abigail Lewis basket was the last of the scoring for the Valkyries as Barton ended the quarter on a 10-0 run to take a 28-9 lead into the second quarter.
2nd Quarter
Converse started the quarter with an 8-0 of the first 5:03 of play to cut the deficit to 28-17. Ashtin Davis connected on 1-2 from the stripe. Then, Erin Horne hit a jumper and Tatum Boggs hit a triple. Paige Johnson ended the run with a jumper from the elbow.
Converse went into the locker room trailing 38-26.
3rd Quarter
Barton opened up the half with a 14-2 before a jumper by Hannah Anderson ended the run midway through the quarter.
Converse continued to struggle from the floor as Barton extended their lead to 61-33 heading into the final quarter.
4th Quarter
Another Barton run pushed their lead to 68-35 before Abigail Lewis hit a jumper and Keocia Walker dialed up a three.
A 6-0 Keocia Walker run cut the deficit to 70-46 with 5:44 remaining. Barton regained their advantage with an 8-0 run before Converse chipped away with a six point swing.
