SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Converse Volleyball team dropped a Conference Carolinas match against Mount Olive on Friday evening 3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED

1st Set

• Converse jumped out to an early 10-4 lead after back-to-back kills by JaLesa Beaver.
• Mount Olive would counter with a 13-3 run to take the lead 17-13.
• The Valkyries tied things back up at 19-all and 22-all.  Back-to-back Trojan kills would allow them to steal the set 25-23.

2nd Set

• The Valkyries and Trojans would exchange points for the first portion of the set before UMO took a 16-11 lead.
• Facing a 21-13 deficit, Kassie Burkett would serve the Valkyries back into the match with four straight points.
• Mount Olive would take the set 25-19.

3rd Set

• Mount Olive would use a 19-7 run to open the set.
• Converse would rally with a 8-1 run to bring the set to within five, 20-15.
• The Trojans would find the final five points they needed for the 25-17 set and match.
