DUE WEST, S.C.- The Converse volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-17, 25-8, 25-20) decision to defending Conference Carolinas champion, Erskine, in league play on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

1st Set:

• Converse started off strong matching Erskine point-for-point with JaLesa Beaver with the kill to knot things at 10-all.
• Erskine would go on a 6-1 run to take a hold on the set.  Converse would cut it to 18-15 with the kill by Kassie Burkett.
• The Fleet would take the set 25-17.

2nd Set:

• The Valkyries' offense struggled to find their groove in the second set falling behind 15-3.

3rd Set:

• Converse was able to find their groove like the first set battling with the Fleet early in the set.
• Back-to-back kills by Alexis Pitts and Kassie Burkett would cut it to 11-10 in favor of Erskine but that was the closest the Valkyries would come as the Fleet took the set 25-20.
• The Valkyries would make a 4-0 run late to move to 23-20 but the Fleet finished off the set.
