BRISTOL, TENN.- The Converse volleyball team dropped a Conference Carolinas Match on Saturday afternoon to King 3-1 (12-25, 13-25, 25-23, 7-25).

Kassie Burkett led the Valkyries with a career high 11 kills. Burkett added six assists and eight digs in the match.

Deanna Unger tallied 15 assists and recorded eight digs on the afternoon.

Converse found their rhythm in the third set leading King 19-12 before the Tornado rallied to tie things at 19-all. The Valkyries would be able to fight off the rally and take their first league set of the year 25-23. 

The Valkyries continue their extended road trip as Converse faces NAIA opponent Bob Jones on September 20 at 4pm in Greenville.
