FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.- The Converse basketball team was unable to cool down Emmanuel's hot shooting as the Valkyries suffered a 107-73 loss in Conference Carolinas action on Tuesday evening.

Brianna James (Spartanburg, S.C.) led the Valkyries with 22 points.  Logan Hollis (Spartanburg, S.C.) hit 60% of her shots chipping in with 17 points.  Khrystal Ellis (Greenville, S.C.) posted 12 points.

Converse (4-16, 3-13) hung with Emmanuel (17-6, 13-4) in the first quarter shooting 40% but trailed 23-18 after the first quarter.  Emmanuel had the hot hand in the second quarter shooting 60% from the floor and 77.8% from behind the arc as the Lions doubled up the Valkyries to jump out to a 57-35 advantage.

The Valkyries were able to slow things down in the second half as the Lions outscored Converse 50-38.  

Converse returns home to face Barton in Conference Carolinas action on Thursday, February 11 at 5:30pm.  The contest is a rescheduled contest from January 23 due to inclement weather.
