Box Score SPARTANBURG, S.C.- The Valkyries posted three players in double-figures to lead Converse to a 68-59 Conference Carolinas victory on Tuesday evening.
Erin Horne posted a double-double with a team high 14 points and a career-high 10 rebounds. Brianna James and Tatum Boggs chipped in with 13 points each.

HOW IT HAPPENED
1st Quarter
Paige Johnson started off the contest with a layup to give the Valkyries the early lead. Southern Wesleyan would go on an 8-2 run with four minutes remaining in the quarter.
SWU led 11-6 with 2:01 left in the first quarter before Converse went on a 10-4 run. Bri James started the run converting an and-one opportunity and a three. After a SWU basket, Paige Johnson knocked down a jumper to give the Valkyries the 14-13 lead, which they never relinqushed.
2nd Quarter
Converse and Southern Wesleyan battled back and forth in the second frame, until Dominique Hill connected on a deep ball to push the lead to five, 26-21.
Tatum Boggs would knock down one of her three triples to keep the lead at five before Erin Horne pushed it to seven with a layup.
Back-to-back triples by Horne balloned the Valkyrie lead to 13, 38-25, with 47 seconds left in the half.
The Warriors strung together four points to bring it to single digits before Horne went 1-2 from the charity stripe to send Converse into the locker room with a double-figure lead, 39-29.
3rd Quarter
The Valkyries fought hard in the quarter connecting on two field goals. Bri James scored five of the eight points in the quarter. James connected on two freebies followed by a trey with 8:03 left in the quarter.
With just over two minutes left in the quarter, the Warriors would cut the Valkyrie lead down to 46-42 after two from the stripe.
Hannah Anderson went 1-2 from the stripe to end the quarter. Anderson finished the night with nine points.
4th Quarter
The Warriors would score five quick points coming out of the quarter break to trim the lead to 47-46 just 54 seconds into the final stanza.
Tatum Boggs hit another three followed by two freebies and an Erin Horne layup pushed the lead back up to 54-46.
Hannah Anderson was successful on back-to-back jumpers gave the Valkyries the double-digit lead with 5:44 left to play.
The Valkyries went 6-10 from the stripe in the final three minutes of play to keep the Warriors at bay to seal the Conference Carolinas victory.
