SPARTANBURG, S.C.- The Converse Volleyball team dropped a Conference Carolinas match in straight sets to the visiting Emmanuel Lions in league play on Saturday afternoon, 3-0 (25-14, 25-23, 25-15).

HOW IT HAPPENED

1st Set 

• After an early Emmanuel lead, Converse was able to rally back to cut the deficit to 12-8.
• Emmanuel would extend their lead to 18-9 before a kill and service ace by JaLesa Beaver halted the run.
• Emmanuel would take the set 25-14.

2nd Set

• Converse would jump out to an early 10-4 capped off by an Alexis Pitts kill.
• Emmanuel rallied back to knot things at 12-all forcing a Converse timeout.
• With the Lions leading 17-14 a service error and back-to-back service aces by Deanna Unger tied things at 17-all.
• The score would be tied again at 19, 21, 22, and 23 all before Emmanuel netted the final two points of the set.

3rd Set

• Converse gained the early advantage in the third set seeing their advantage at 8-3 after an Alexis Pitts kill.
• Emmanuel countered with an 8-3 run of their own to tie things at 11-all.
• The Lions finished the set on a 14-3 run taking the set 25-15.
