SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Converse Volleyball team was unable to take care of opportunities as Limestone slide past Valkyries in a straight set Conference Carolinas match on the road on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

1st Set

• Converse and Limestone exchanged points for the first portion of the set. With the score tied at 8-all, Limestone jumped out to a 13-8 lead forcing Converse to call a timeout.
• Limestone maintained a four point lead for most of the set as Converse would cut it to 21-18 forcing another Valkyries timeout.
• Limestone would take the first set 25-19.

2nd Set

• Both teams exchenaged points throughout the set until back-to-back Saint errors allowed Converse to take a 14-12.
• Converse would extended that lead out to 17-13 forcing Limestone to call the timeout.
• Coming out of the timeout, Limestone would rally to regain the lead at 19-18.
• Limestone continued on that rally going up 22-18 forcing Converse to call the timeout.
• JaLesa Beaver halted the run with a kill coming out of the timeout.  Converse forced the Limestone timeout at 24-22 but a Saints kill ended the set 25-22.

3rd Set

• Limestone started off the set with a 7-3 run halted by Deanna Unger with a kill.
• The Saints would move double up the score after a Saints kill at 12-6.
• Converse would rally back after the timeout thanks to four Saints errors bringing the score closer at 13-11 forcing Limestone to call a timeout.
• Back-to-back kills by Leslie Gonzalez knotted things up at 13-all before taking the lead at 14-13 off a block by Alexis Pitts.
• Alexis Pitts' kill put the Valkyries up 16-13 forcing the final timeout by Limestone.
• Limestone marched back as the Saints would retake the lead 22-21 on a service ace.
• The Saints take the final three points for the 25-22 set and match.
