GREENWOOD, S.C. - After a six match homestand, the Valkyries traveled to Lander for a non-conference contest.  Converse would fall to the Bearcats in straight sets, 3-0, (25-9, 25-12, 25-12).

HOW IT HAPPENED

1st Set

• After getting kills by Kayla Pettit and Journee English to start the match, Lander used a 21-4 run to take control of the set, 21-6.
• JaLesa Beaver would add a kill at the end of the set as the Bearcats took the opening set 25-9.

2nd Set

• The set would be a back-and-forth set early on trading points along the way.
• Journee English would knot things at 7-all with a kill.
• Lander would continue their attack with an 18-5 run to take the set 25-12.

3rd Set

• Lander would jump out in front early with a 14-4 advantage.
• Converse would cut it to 15-8 after a bad Bearcat set an a kill by Kayla Pettit.
• Back-to-back kills by Madelena Rodriguez and a service ace by Jenna Brock were the remaining points for Converse in the set.
