SPARTANBURG, S.C.- Converse dropped a midweek non-conference match on Tuesday evening against Newberry 3-1 (16-25, 16-25, 25-19, 21-25) despite Krislyn Moore posting her first career double-double.

Krislyn Moore (Spartanburg, S.C.) showed up for the home opener posting a double-double dishing out 37 assists and had 12 digs.  Moore tallied two kills.  Katie Butler (Savannah, Ga.) led the way for the Valkyries recording 15 kills.  JaLesa Beaver (Katy, Texas) posted nine kills, while Journee English (Columbia, S.C.) had seven.

Beaver had a solid day defensively as well recording eight digs and 3.5 blocks (2 solo, 3 assist).  Jordan Robertson (Greenville, S.C.) tallied 17 digs.

Converse (1-3) recorded 10 blocks as a team, six solo and eight assisted.

The Valkyries picked up the third set over Newberry (4-1) taking the set 25-19.  Converse out-hit the Wolves in the set .207 to .147.

Converse heads on the road for the second straight weekend as the Valkyries participate in a tri-match in Augusta, Ga. to face host Edward Waters and Paine on Saturday, September 12 at 2pm and 4pm respectively.
