SPARTANBURG, S.C.- The Valkyries dropped a Conference Carolinas clash against Lees-McRae on Friday evening for Senior Night falling to the Bobcats 3-1 (17-25, 25-20, 20-25, 19-25).  Converse drops to 3-20 on the season and 0-13 in league play.  Lees-McRae improves to 6-18 and 5-8.

Converse was led by senior Katie Butler (Savannah, Ga.) and JaLesa Beaver (Katy, Texas).  Butler had 18 kills on the match while Beaver posted 12 kills and only two errors.  Makaylah Plemmons (Union County, S.C.) posted eight kills and led the team with 10 digs.

The Valkyries were slow out of the gate dropping the first set 25-17 recording only six kills.  The team picked it up in the lone set win hitting .314 on the set with 14 kills and only three errors.

Converse stayed in the fight with the Bobcats keeping the sets close but miscues in the third and fourth set allowed LMC to take the sets and the match.

Parent's Weekend resumes tomorrow for the Valkyries as Converse hosts King in the final home match of the season.  First serve is at 1pm.
