DUE WEST, S.C.- Converse fell in straight sets to Conference Carolinas leading Erskine on Friday evening (25-11, 25-11, 25-19).  Converse falls to 3-15 on the season and 0-10 in league play.  The Flying Fleet improves to 13-5 and 10-0 in conference play.

The Valkyries' attacks were limited featuring 18 kills on the evening.  JaLesa Beaver (Katy, Texas) led the charge with six kills and five digs.  Aeriel Wheeler (Woodruff, S.C.) finished with five kills.  Journee English (Columbia, S.C.) and Cayla Wood (Asheville, N.C.) tallied three kills.

Converse couldn't get into the groove falling behind early in sets one and two forcing early timeouts to stop the Flying Fleet attack.

The Valkyries tried to rally in the third set but fell short falling 25-19 in the set.  Converse kept up with Erskine early in the set tying things at 8-all.  Erskine used a 7-0 run to push the advantage to 15-8.  Seven Erskine errors allowed Converse to rally in the set but was not enough to post a set victory for the Valkyries.

Converse returns to the court on Saturday, October 17 against Emmanuel in Franklin Springs, Ga. in a Conference Carolinas divisional match-up.
