Hitting Woes Continue for Valkyries Drop Match to Barton, 3-0

SPARTANBURG, S.C.-  Converse's hitting woes continued as the Valkyries dropped its last eight matches falling to 5-12 on the season and 0-5 in Conference Carolinas play on Saturday afternoon.  Barton improves to 6-10 on the season and 4-3 in league play.

The Valkyries hung tough with the Lady Bulldogs in set one falling short 25-22.  Barton cruised in set two and three winning 25-20 and 25-18 respectively for the 3-0 victory.

Converse hit a match high .129 in set one while hitting .000 and -.028 in the sets two and three.  Converse is hitting .113 on the season.

Krislyn Moore (Spartanburg, S.C.) paced the Valkyries with 12 assists.  Aubrey Crosby (Spartanburg, S.C.) continued to lead the Valkyries on the defensive front tallying 20 digs to push her season total to 286.

Journee English (Columbia, S.C.) recorded a team high seven kills, while Candace Clack (MacClenny, Fla.) finished the match with six kills.

Converse heads to Clark Atlanta for a non-conference match Oct. 9.  First serve is set for 7pm.
