Belmont, NC-- Ashley Arff's 18 points were not enough to help the Converse basketball squad overcome a final four-point deficit against conference rival Belmont Abbey College on Saturday afternoon. With the 50-54 lost to the Lady Crusaders, the Valkyries fall to 1-11 on the season.
The bout began with Belmont opening on a 13-1 run. Converse gradually cut the lead to just five points and eventually reduced the deficit to just three points.
