Converse Cross Country Competes at Bulldog Invitational


WINGATE, N.C. – The Converse cross country team competed in the Bulldog Invitational hosted by Wingate University on Saturday morning. "Today was a great effort by the girls", said head coach Brandon Morton. "They are in the middle of heavy training so we are looking forward to peaking at the right time."

Freshman Jamie Connelly led the Valkyries on the afternoon, finishing in a respectable 53rd position after crossing the finish line in a time of 26:37.77, while teammate Jane Macsay turned in a solid performance, placing just behind Connelly with a time of 27:56.81.

Kathryn Frizzel posted a time of 34:34.80 and Abigail Jolley, running in her first race for the Purple and Gold, notched a total time of 37:07.45. Olivia Flint rounded out the performers for Converse, reaching the finish line in 39:42.93.

Converse will be back in action on Friday, September 29, traveling to Charlotte, N.C. to compete in the Royals XC Challenge hosted by Queens University.
