SPARTANBURG, S.C.- In the first year of the Conference Carolinas Cross Country Championships moving to a 6K course, the Valkyries continued to improve as they dropped 64 seconds off their previous 6K course team average.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Autumn Stone barely missed out on an All-Conference selection finishing 17th overall.  Stone finished the course in 24:56.83. The senior shaved 29 seconds off her previous 6K course time competing at the Furman XC Classic last month.
  • Jane Macsay posted a 35th overall finish with a time of 26:31.02. Macsay was able to cut 26 seconds off her previous best 6K time.
  • Jessica Morgan finished third for the Valkyries with her first postseason competition of her career with a time of 27:19.02.
  • Lauren Morris would take 18 seconds off her time from Furman to finish with a time of 27:35.59.
  • Brittany Sandifer and Hannah Taber finished fifth and sixth respectively.  Alison Jouan would round out the field for Converse.
