The Valkyries kept the momentum in their side of the court to begin the swinging third frame, jumping out to a 13-7 lead. However, a run of 11-2 by the Fleet gave EC an 18-15 lead. The lead grew to five (23-18) before Converse used a 5-1 run to close to within one, but a kill by Rebecca Massengill gave Erskine the set and a 2-1 match lead.
Converse raced out to a 3-1 lead in set four, but seven straight points from EC gave the Flying Fleet a lead they would not relinquish, leading the rest of the way en route to a match-clinching 25-18 fourth set win.
