Converse Track Sprints Way To Four More Records

COLUMBIA, S.C.- The Converse Track and Field team continued to break school records at the Gamecock Invitational on Saturday as the Valkyries prepare for the 2017 Conference Carolinas Outdoor Championships.

THE RESULTS

Shot Put:

Shakura Wesley shattered the school record in the event by over 10 feet.  Welsey posted a mark of 34'2.25 (10.42m).  Record previously held since 2014 by Ayana Payden.

200m:

Ciera Richards broke the school record previously held by Brianna Mitchell since 2014.  Richards blazed to a 25.72 tiime in the event.

100m:

Deja Attaway broke her own school record in the event by .05 by clocking a 12.55.

4x100m Relay:

The quad of Deja Attaway, Derian Cunningham, Jada Simmons, and Ciera Richards broke the school record with a time of 48.68.

Hammer Throw:

Jordan Cooksey was just off her personal best in the event with a throw of 116' (35.35m).

Pole Vault:

Hannah Asselin posted a personal best height of 9'10 (3.00m).

5000m:

Autumn Stone finished 12th overall in the event with a time of 19:43.64.

400m:

Derian Cunningham posted the third fastest time in program history with a time of 1:01.14.

800m:

Lauren Morris moved up the top-ten with the second best time in program history with a time of 2:16.07.

Jane Macsay posted a time of 2:49.88.

400m Hurdles:

Catera Young posted a time of 1:15.14.
