BLACK MOUNTAIN, N.C. - The Converse Track team broke four school records at the Inaugural Montreat Invitational over the weekend. The team finished second among 14 teams with 92 points.
Converse finished behind King (111 pts) and ahead of three other Conference Carolinas schools.
Jordan Cooksey broke her own school record by nearly ten feet with a heave of 117'9 (35.90m). Cooksey's throw placed her fourth.
Shakura Wesley threw 89'5 (27.26m) to finish 12th overall.
Sequoya Davis finished sixth in the event with a jump of 16'5.25 (5.01m). Dominique Hill finished just behind Davis with a leap of 16'3.75 (4.97m) for seventh overall and third best inn program history.
Frost finished second with Asselin finishing in third.
Shakura Wesley finished eighth overall with a heave of 31'5.25 (9.58m).
Jordan Cooksey broke the school record in the event with a throw of 87'7 (26.70m). Cooksey's throw was over 15 feet better than the previous school record held since 2014.
Shakura Wesley produced the second best throw in program history with a mark of 73'5 (22.38m).
Deja Attaway and Cierra Richards finished fourth and fifth respectively in the event. Attaway ran 12.79 while Richards was just behind with a 12.83.
Deja Attaway finished fourth overall with a time of 26.86.
Autumn Stone finished sixth overall with a time of 5:13.35.
Catera Young finished sixth overall with a time of 1:17.97.
The Valkyries will travel to Columbia, S.C. to participate in the Gamecock Invitational hosted by South Carolina on Saturday, April 15.
